Our client is a fast growing and innovative company in the wealth management industry. The business develops technology solutions covering the end-to-end wealth management process, from client engagement tools, to preparing financial advice, to investment platform solutions. The core offering includes an investment platform (super and investment products) and financial planning software. The team has wide ranging experience and diverse backgrounds and bring many perspectives to building an inclusive and vibrant workplace.

The role

We are looking for a Business Analyst with paraplanning experience to join a high performing and highly collaborative Product team. The primary responsibility of this role is to bridge the gap between business needs and their financial modelling and projection application, through analysing business requirements, and providing actionable recommendations to customise business solutions and improve processes. A secondary responsibility is to assist with second level support to the Support Team (Helpdesk), host product training sessions, software testing and involvement in client software projects.

The successful candidate loves technology and is client-centric. They are also someone who is multi-faceted in their ability to use their strong paraplanning skills to train and support the financial advisers, but at the same time, is able to knuckle down to assist with software testing.

This role will work very closely with the software support and software developer teams. Being a member of a fast-growing, technology-driven company, you will need to be able to adapt to change, be mindful of the many priorities and able to manage these, whilst being open to learning continuously on the job.

Key Responsibilities

The role’s key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) when software enhancements and key features are introduced
  • Capture and analyse business requirements for new software enhancements and client projects.
  • Assist with second level support where further investigation of issues is required.
  • Actively gather user feedback on our software and liaise with various teams to bring about continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular product training sessions

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Five plus years previous experience as a Senior Paraplanner or working in a Compliance role.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of financial planning.
  • A university level qualification in finance/accounting/financial planning is highly regarded.
  • Excellent excel proficiency.
  • Client focussed, enthusiastic and flexible to go above and beyond your job description.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills supported by clear and concise communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, organised and have a high degree of follow through.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
