Our client is a fantastic boutique M&A advisory firm, with a stellar reputation on the market and due to deal flow, they are looking for an Analyst (or potentially Associate) to join their team. They have a very strong team and this will give you exposure to end-to-end deal exposure and an opportunity to grow your skills.

You will work within the busy M&A team, working closely with the Head of M&A across the full transaction lifecycle, from origination through to execution. You'll work on a range of deals and the role will combine technical work (modelling etc) and working with clients and gaining commercial related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work on and prepare financial models to perform ongoing valuation analysis
  • Research and prepare transaction materials
  • Manage the deal processes, and provide ongoing communication to all parties involved
  • Conduct market and buyer research (PE and strategic)
  • Support ongoing client advisory and live mandates

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Economics, Business and Law
  • Ideally, a post graduate qualifications such as CA, CFA, Master of Applied Finance (or currently doing one)
  • Ideally, experience in a corporate advisory Big4 Deals Team (Transaction Services, M&A, Valuations) or In-House Corporate Development
  • Very strong financial modelling and analytical capability
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Commercially minded with the ability to assess key deal drivers and importantly, potential risks
  • Excellent communicator, who is able to articulate clearly and with assurance

In this key role, you will gain end-to-end M&A exposure, working in a high-performing team which collaborates. You will learn fast and work hard (that's the culture) and the rewards can be significant in terms of bonuses paid out. You will have the freedom to be instinctive, but work within a highly compliant and well-run firm.

This role will suit an ambitious candidate with high levels of intelligence and as importantly, people skills. They are not looking for a "lone wolf" but a candidate who enjoys the dynamic of working in a tight-knit team.

If this sounds like a role you'd be interested in and have the right experience to do, please reach out to John Molony (john@bkcon.com.au).
