Our client is a high-calibre boutique investment manager with several successful funds, and a track record of achievement built over the last 15 years. This is a fund which is highly entrepreneurial by nature and gets things done to a high standard, and more efficiently that its direct competitors.

The business is currently looking for an Investor Relations (IR) Senior Associate to help lead the IR function.. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with strong analytical, financial and communication skills to build a career in Investor Relations within a growing firm. You will be central and lead the delivery of core IR activities. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders; gaining meaningful exposure to clients, investors, fund managers, executive decision-makers, and external suppliers.

The business has an inclusive, energetic culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and high performance. For the right person, the role offers a unique opportunity to develop your IR expertise, whilst at the same time contributing to a dynamic, growing business.

They need a candidate who excels in fast-paced settings, has demonstrated success in IR or a similar area, and is motivated to support the business. If you are passionate about funds, have outstanding analytical and communication skills, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of key fund IR activities and processes, demonstrating independence and strong judgment.
  • Coordinate investor and analyst meetings, roadshows, conferences, and other market engagement activities.
  • Support the planning and delivery of major IR events, including company results announcements, investor briefings, and the AGM.
  • Support the preparation of results materials, AGM papers, Board and Executive presentations, investor messaging and other market-facing content.
  • Conduct financial, peer, industry, shareholder and market analysis to support investor communications and leadership discussions.
  • Work proactively with internal teams to gather insights, understand business performance, and ensure messaging is accurate and aligned.
  • Support responses to investor and analyst queries, escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Maintain and improve the IR website and digital disclosure channels.
  • Manage and enhance IR databases, process controls, CRM systems and team workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IR processes, including through leveraging AI, automation and new technologies.
  • Apply discretion, professionalism and attention to detail when working with confidential and market-sensitive information.

Experience Required

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in IR, equity research, corporate finance, investment banking, finance, consulting, accounting, strategy, or a related analytical role.
  • Ideally funds management of closely linked experience
  • Interest in financial markets, investment funds, investor communications and corporate strategy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial and business information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external partners in a professional environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Advanced capability across Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in IR for someone who is both passionate and hard-working. You will gain direct exposure to the way a growing fund communicates with the market, manages investor relationships, explains performance and tells its strategic story. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and build skills that you may want to develop.

Whilst the business will likely always remain a boutique, you will still have the chance to progress through L&D and a competitive salary (that is reviewed whilst in role) and a bonus linked to your and the firm's performance.

If this opportunity appeals, please apply or email John Molony (john@bkcon.com.au) for further information.
